    Fude Shrine

    Fude Shrine
    This shrine was built during the reign of Guangsyu Emperor of Cing Dynasty with a history more than one hundred years. In 1978, it was renovated with the financial support of the believers, and it took four years to complete the construction.

    Fonglin Temple

    Fonglin Temple
    Fonglin Temple was established in 1697. The Temple worships Wun wanye, Jhu wanye, and Chih wanye. All of them were the Jinshi (the presented scholars) in Tang Dynasty. Therefore, the Temple is also called “Sanwanye” Temple.

    Fongyi Temple

    Fongyi Temple
    Built in 1747, Fongyi Temple worships Wun wanye, Jhu wanye, and Chih wanye. Although the temple has been renovated several times, its original appearance is much preserved; the pillar foundations, the carved pillars and granite stairs, after being examined, are all the original materials shipped from China, which makes them very precious.

    Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Center

    Kaohsiung Municipal Social Education Center
    The Social Education Center is composed of the Culture and Art Building, a reading room, a theater, a lecture hall, a display hall, an outdoor theater (for 2,000 people), billiard rooms, physical-training rooms, and swimming pools. It provides the citizens with a space for culture and exercise through knowledge, recreation, art, and life-long learning.

    Kaohsiung Internatinoal Airport

    Kaohsiung Internatinoal Airport
    Kaohsiung Airport was built during the Japanese colonial period. During the early Restoration period, it was used by the government as the training base for the Air Force. In 1965, the Airport was taken over by Civil Aeronautic Administration to extend the air transportation business in Southern Taiwan. Thus the Airport started its business of the domestic civil and cargo transportation. In April, 1969, the Airport started the international cargo business. On 1st July of the same year, it was officially renamed as Kaohsiung International Airport.

    Built in 1979, Kaohsiung Park boasts trees that provide a comfortable shelter for the birds; busy lizzy blossoms that make the park a popular place; a lotus pound that provides people a space of quietness and meditation.

    Kaohsiung Astronomical Museum

    Kaohsiung Astronomical Museum
    The Kaohsiung Astronomical Museum contains the following facilities:
    1. Astronomy Science Exhibition Hall—A multi-media exhibition of astronomy knowledge.
    2. Multi-media Astronomy Hall—This hall is equipped with a five-meter screen. The image of celestial sphere can be projected on it for the education about the constellations.
    3. Ancient Astronomy Science Exhibition Hall—This hall exhibits some ancient Chinese astronomy equipment such as the water clock and sundial.
    4. Observation Hall—This hall contains an automatic sphere roof and a 300mm catadioptric telescope.

    Kaohsiung Tropical Plant Garden

    Kaohsiung Tropical Plant Garden
    Located at the southeast of Kaohsiung and next to Linhai Industrial Park, Kaohsiung Tropical Plant Garden boasts an environment of biodiversity that provides habitats for animals. It also provides the citizens with a recreational spot as well as a spot for environmental education and ecological tour.
